As I was drawing this I started to wonder why they call the little alien that bursts out of it’s human host’s stomach, a chest burster?

Inktober-Day 3
Today we have have everyone’s favorite dream haunter and child killer, Freddy Krueger. It is pretty weird that there is such a big fan base for the guy who kills kids and teens but I guess we can thank the 1980’s for that.

The Wicked Witch of the West
I decided to go with the Wicked Witch for today’s Inktober drawing after seeing some other drawings on Instagram for the month challenge. The artists had made a list of subjects for each day of this month and witches was one of them. I instantly thought of this beauty and decided to go with it.

Here we have a watercolor painting of Indiana Jones. I did not initially plan to do this piece just in black and white, but as I started laying in the black shadows i just kind of kept going with it. I think it turned out alright.

Today’s portrait is of Julie Adams, who plays Kay in the Creature From the Black Lagoon. It’s another watercolor painting, where I’m trying to stay close to the Zorn palette. In the movie she is the main object of the Gillman’s attention.
October is the time of the year called Inktober, where people are doing a month’s worth of ink drawings and I’m thinking about joining in for my first time. And the reason I bring this up is because I’m thinking that the Creature From the Black Lagoon film might be a main subject of the drawings I will do for the month.

Ok, it’s official, I am losing steam today. That means I chose to go with a smaller painting today. Which brings us this watercolor portrait of Alfred Hitchcock.

A little more than a week left in the 30 days and we are witnessed to a man who fears the full moon and when the wolfsbane blooms. Larry Talbot, who is better known as the Wolfman, is the subject of today’s painting. Lon Chaney is the actor who portrays the monster. And he is the only actor to play the same character in all of the Universal Studio monster movie sequels.

Since the movie was shot is black and white I thought I would also post the ink wash version of this before any watercolor paint was added.

Day 20 and it was another hot night in California, so, I decided to keep going with the Batman movie theme and I went with his arch nemesis, the Joker. This is the version from Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman film portrayed by Jack Nicholson. While he is not my favorite Joker in the film franchise, I can’t deny how iconic his look was.

I’m not sure what made me want to paint this today but, I think it has to do with the heat wave running through the Bay Area in California. It was ugly this weekend. Danny DeVito as the Penguin kind of ugly.
