Today’s post is of some of the various Muppet characters I’ve illustrated. Sam the Eagle and Fozzie are both oil paintings, and the others are watercolor paintings.I find doing artwork based on these great Jim Henson creations to be tons of fun! I would really like to find a reason to do more of these.
Day two, and here is some more art that was created recently and shown at the first convention I have shown at. First up is a drawing of the Hitch Hiking Ghosts who are trying to find their way out of Disney’s Haunted Mansion. It is a marker and ink drawing. And this is a piece that sold at the show.
This is a color version of the piece that I did.

Muppets are and have always been important to me. The photo this is based on is just perfect. It is a 5″x7″ watercolor and ink piece and is for sale for $20.

30 Paintings in 30 Days – Day 8
Today is a big day. I’m making the drive from the Bay Area into Hollywood to go to the Hollywood Bowl to see a live version of The Muppet Show! It’s very exciting and something I never would have thought possible. That’s why I did this painting today. It is a 5″x7″ ink and oil painting on a smooth artist panel.

I love the Muppets. And if you are like me, that probably means you love Pigs in Space. I always enjoy drawing Jim Henson related characters and I come back to these characters and subjects often. Kind of like I feel about doing Star Wars related art.
It is an ink and watercolor painting on watercolor paper. This is one that I forgot to post the finished image of.

Here we go with the last week of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge. I felt a little torn about the amount of work I did this weekend. Friday and Saturday were not my most productive of days. Which meant that I had to work harder to make up for it. I knew that I wanted this one for Monday because we can all use a little goodness on Monday. And what is better than a moment with Jim Henson and his greatest contribution to the world, Kermit the Frog.
And, as the we get ready to start the month of February, I’m starting to plan on what I will be doing for that month. Right now I’m going with the Valentine’s Day theme and will be bringing the love. Where that leads, we will all have to wait and see.
