This painting for the fourth day of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days is a portrait of the leader of the group of survivors on the tv show, The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes. He’s not someone who has experienced much good luck in the time of the walker outbreak.
Once again, I’m stickimg with the limited Zorn palette of black, white yellow ocher and cad red oil paints. This picture started off just as a pencil drawing(that you can find a photo on my Instagram account). I felt like it got a luke warm reception and I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go with it. Since I was planning on finishing some stuff that was laying around I figured I would slap some paint on it.

That bluish grey with the orangish grey, I love how it makes this one sing – every one of your 30 in 30’s is so interesting, especially in composition!
Thank you, Pattie. Those greys were kind of an after thought. I’m’ glad they worked out! And, I share your love for Disney and I enjoy your work!
